: : mixtape zine issue no. 6 (in which yours truly has an article)
: : Pea Soup's 571st post
: : and three years, four months, and eight days of blogging
: : also because I've never ever done a giveaway before or let you know how much I appreciate you (and oh I do, I really really do)
... I am giving away either a hand knitted pure cotton washcloth, or a 100g skein of hand dyed aran weight pure wool yarn.

Leave me a comment and I'll draw a winner early next week. Make sure you tell me your preference - cloth or skein!
ps. I'll post to any location - local or international.
edited to add: the colourway of the yarn is 'Gelati'.

I like your wry sense of humor.
Thank you
Oops I forgot about the giveaway...the skein please.
Thanks
"washcloth"
*she gasps, flinging herself forward with a most unseemly display of greed*
You are generous. The skein, please. Has it got one of those glorious names you attribute to your colourways?
*Shoves Fifi out of the way*
Um, washcloth please. The beautiful thing.
So so many give-aways today and I am determined to be in them all!!!!
If you choose me I'd love the skein of wool but I would also be happy with the dish cloth because two of mine were destroyed at the weekend.
You are also most welcome to join in my give away.
Congratulations to all your accomplishments -- Cheers! Both things area lovely, but I prefer the skein of yarn, please.
Washcloth, please!
I am still mourning your burned socks, btw. I burned a pair ON MY FEET 100 years ago. The Smell actually woke me up before the searing heat, thank god.
I'm sitting (metaphorically) on Pav, who shoved Fifi, to get to the washcloth.
It's been a noisy sort of day here (there are power tools upstairs) and I'm searing my eyes reading a wedding mag (for work purposes) and this little bit of beauty is just what I needed. Thanks.
oh.
lovely.
I choose the washcloth.
What I would like to see is some of those Christmas cards you made - remember?
I'm working....the year 11s are writing practise essays for their exam and I'm sitting here "sssshhhhing" them at regualar intervals.
I shouldn't be putting my hand up for skeins of ice-creamery yarn...
(but I am.)
And I have 24 people with me to wrestle anyone else out the door who may win ahead of me... I've promised them an A+ if they help me win.
Either.
Ooh I am impressed with the 571 post number! I will just say 'give me the cloth' because I can't knit - actually I love the cloth and because I can't knit - please pick me please? I'm up to 200 posts only - but there are also some goodies from me if anyone is interested?
skein please....
oooooooh, look at that yarn! Gorgeous, I'd especially love to win it. To use with the crochet hook though, not the needles!
Tough tough choice! But I think I would like the yarn if I was to win! Thanks for your lovely blog (and great photos!)
oh i love them both......
i think the skein as i havn't done much crocheting of late and i love the colour....congrats on a amazing amount of post....your blog if fantastic and always a great read...it's made me laugh and cry at the same time....
Well I'd love the skein.
Those colours are gorgeous. And I love your Mary Janes, though I have told you that before.
I'm jealous of your house. My dream is to build a strawbale house.
I've been trying to guess your job. Any hints?
ah! such a difficult decision...the skein please. *thinking: I really don't need to add to the stash*
Congrats on all the numbers in the post! Have I told you that you're in my 'daily 3' reads? Well there you go.
innercitygarden has just received an effective hip anad shoulder putting her out of play..
Gelati, please!
(and congrats on all those significant events)
571 posts? Sensei I bow to your blogging experience.
I'd love either but perhaps because I am quite flush in the washcloth department I should put my hand up for the skein.
congratulations on all counts. I'm loving your pictures. If I had the washcloth I could dab at my perspiring brow delicately while picking mushrooms
Congrats Soup Lady.
I'll beg for the washcloth.
Congratulations on all those posts-any of those giveaways would be lovely:)
Congratulations! If I am lucky enough to be win, I would love the skein. I have visions of what I would knit with it already!
Both are lovely, Suse - as is your blog. But the washcloth...
It's a giveaway- either. but the skein is dreamy!
Thanks for the fun (and generosity).
Sam
You know, I'm so glad you've put out those 571 posts!
The washcloth is infinitely more practical. So I'll practice my new rule, (which is to stop choosing utility over beauty in my life full stop) and go for the skein.
Thank you, sweet Suse, for the 571 posts.
(No need to enter me in the draw.)
Love your posts! They are both amusing and inspiring!
That said........SKEIN! SO pretty!!!!
the skein, the skein, my kingdom for the skien!{ not that I have a kingdom, you know, but if I did...}
the skein, the skein, my kingdom for the skien!{ not that I have a kingdom, you know, but if I did...}
Congrats on all of your reasons to celebrate. Good luck with your reopening! Etsy has been pretty good to me so far!
I would definitly have to go for the skein! Lovely colors!
Count me in! I'll go for the skein. :)
Keep on blogging in the free world ...sorry! Saw Neil Young in concert last night and it's stuck!
Love that rhubarb and custard skein — please put me in the draw.
Thanks, Suze.
Wow, three years plus is a long time. Thank you for having a give-away. I would love a chance to win the skein of yarn.
The skein please. What lovely colors. Or actually either would be a treat! Congratulations on the accomplishments. You are appreciated as well!
I like the skien. It's beautiful. I always enjoy reading your blog. Thanks!
Still loving this blog! Your wit send me into fits - FITS, I tell you!
I love the skein. I just recently started knitting (!) and would love to add that beauty to my supply.
571 is an excellent number to celebrate, congrats! And please keep on serving us more Soup. Especially with that yummy Gelati-skein for dessert, mmmm.
Oh, I would so truly love that yarn! Just lovely. Sue.
congrats!
washcloth please :)
Gotta be the yarn. It's scrumptious!
ooh, that yarn looks so squishy and ready to cuddle with, mmm :)
ooh definitely the dish cloth! What generosity. Thank you.
I checked out your etsy shop before. Blimey! Lovely. I'm inspired to have a go at knitting with that lot beckoning.
But seeing as I can't knit, and therefore it would be a travesty to waste that beautiful skein of wool on me, I shall be shameless and put my hand up for the washcloth.
Although, I'd probably be like that bloke in Cold Comfort Farm who just stares at his pretty new dishrag, not wanting to use it as it was intended to be used. Too perty.
OK, I've just taken a flying leap over frog, innercitygarden and the others in the scrum to reach up for the dishcloth in a very unseemly manner.Please.Thankyou.571 posts is a pretty good achievement, I say.well done and please keep going- I really enjoy your blog.
Congrats!
&...SQUEEEEEEEEE!
Gelati! Gelati! GEEEE LAAAAA TIIIII! XXxx

Warmest congrats on 571. It wouldn't be the same without you here.
I can attest to the deliciousness of the washcloths. They ARE spectacular.
Now there's some milestones to drink to!
I'm all for the skein, but to be honest, I feel like sending YOU a present!
Congratulations.....

its mine, mine all MINE. I shall love it, i shall pat it.
skein please.
I love reading your blog, so inspiring, especially from a fellow melbournite!
Congratulations on the publication!
(No prize necessary for me to be here)
I never win anything. That being said, I can't decide which one I'd like not to win more.
On the one hand, there's the lovely wash cloth...so intricately woven in such a pretty pattern. But...it's been brought to my attention that the equally lovely Eleanor has put dibs on it before me...Perhaps I shouldn't steal it away...or should I? Yes? No. That's wrong. Thou shalt not steal lovely washcloths. Definitely no.
I think instead I'd like the skein of beautiful hand-dyed wool--which holds the promise of maybe one day using it...when I've learned to knit. Maybe it would be just what I needed to get started.
Yes. The skein. That's what I most covet.
I look forward to visiting your etsy shop, Suse. Congrats on your three years, four months and eight days! 571!
wow! how fun, i love the yarn, i must check out your shop :)
It's great to see your yarn back! It's what first attracted me to your blog and to knitting, actually. So thankyou very much for finding me a hobby I am actually sticking with! (needless to say, I love the yarn). I'm off to have a look at your shop!
Congratulations on all the things you're celebrating! I'd love a chance to win the yarn.
congratulations on your blogging milestone; mixtape zine article and the reopening of your etsy shop!
i'd love to be entered in your giveaway, and my preference would be for the cloth.
Mazel Tov on the reopening and the many wonderful, laughable, dear posts.
Skein, please, iffen I'm the lucky one!
Wow, Suse... 71 comments at this point and I guess I am 72. I was recently happy to receive about 10 comments about my sister being pregnant. I guess it is give always that excite people to comment.
I have another window open to display your etsy shop. I am about to add you as one of my favourites.
Hope to catch up for some craft again soon.
Ellen
PS... I'd love that beautiful cloth!!!
Good evening Mrs Soup - lovely blogging lady, and souper dyer. Anything in wool yarn for me.
I never enter giveaways but for you I will make an exception because you are a blogging goddess.
They are both lovely, please enter me for the wool
Lovely giveaway, I'd love to win the cloth, you've done such a lovely job. I see we were both winners of the bring a friend to Sewjourn day! Looking forward to seeing you there, my lovely friend I'm bringing with me lives in a mud brick home in Eltham so I'm sure you'll have a few things in common! Luv :)Kylie
I went to Savers (on my own for the first time in many years), I piled my little cart/basket so high with clothes that people stared....remembering why I had come, I put most of them back, found the perfect pair of double sided sock needles and left with dignity and shopping budget in tact. Now I can knit socks and dream of more yarn.....all is well.
Congratulations! On the article and your blogging achievement!
I would love to have the skein of Gelati (my favorite colors)!
Again, congrats! Deborah
Oh that skein is gorgeous.
nom nom nom
Oh, your wash cloth is so pretty I'd like that...
I don't really deserve either because the wash cloth is so pretty that I'd never use it to wash with, and the wool would be wasted on me because I'm not a talented knitter and would have to keep unpicking it. Now, a knitted acorn..
But congratulations on all those achievements - 3 years, 8 months and 10 days now, and counting...
Skein please, :)
I just found your blog - it's lovely! And a giveaway on the first visit - bonus! It's great to read something so wonderful AND Australian!
Skein PLEASE!!
That yarn is beautiful I would love to win that
it's all so perdy! I love the skein of yarn :)
I know one of these days I will win a giveaway. Crossing fingers!
(Skein, please. But I wouldn't say no the washclothe, either.)
wowee you're an old hand at blogging then!
its an eeny minny mo but I'd make a good home for that yarn!
keep on bloggin'
Corrie:)
I have tagged you in a meme - I'm interested in your answers, crafty mamma. I'd like the skein if I'm lucky enough to be chosen.
Hi Suse
I curtsey to one who has been blogging for quite a while - I'm still a newbie (4 months and 24 blogs posts).
Blessings
Janelle - Threads of Friendship
PS Kylie & I are having a giveaway too, feel free to join in.
Gelati is such an excellent name choice.
Naming yarns must be difficult - the strain of getting right! It must be like naming kids.
Congrats on so many posts. You are indeed an old hand at this blogging business.
I'd be delighted to win either. Really, I would.
If you're really going to send me a gift almost the whole way across the world, the least I can do is have either. Thank you very much ...
I just wanted to say hi. I found your blog today through reading the comments on Jane Brocker's blog. I've really enjoyed reading your posts and looking at all your lovely photos. Glad to have found you!
ooh, i would love to knit with that beautiful skein!
Oh goodness, both are lovely! I'd love that washcloth though. Gorgeous!
Happy 3years 4months and 8 days of Blogging to you! I'm a novice in comparison, but am so loving the idea of a giveaway - I've never see/heard of one before and feel very weird asking for the skein. Pink is my daughter's all time fave colour and yellow is her second, so I would use it to make something wonderful for her!
Yarn, please. How exciting!
Also, I was thinking of making some of those cloths to go with Christmas gifts. What sort of yarn do you use, and how absorbent are they?
Thanks!
Shirty (Friend of Babel Babe)
I love reading about you and your family - if I was lucky enough to win I'd love the 'Gelati' skein of wool please.
NINETY SEVEN comments???
oh YOU'RE SO FAMOUS
I'd have to go the cloth as well, I don't knit and I'd hate that skein to go to waste.
Yaya for Obama! I think both him and me would go for the skein ;) Ps. Lovely blog
/Dea from Denmark
Comment 100 - the dishcloth because my knitting is so abysmal. :)
Pea Soup has been a great read with lots of creative ideas to boot. Thanks!!
I would love the dishcloth to add to my miniscule collection.
Congrats on the Etsy shop being open for business!
The skein please...so gorgeous!
102 comments ?!?!?
My God, you're hot ;)
Skein please - and I know exactly what i'll do with it now i'm KNITTING ( I know, WTF? )
Keep bloggin', oh Soupy one
( oh, and thankyou for your lovely comments, of which I was too rude to reply to ... :p )
I have missed out on a lot being away!
Congrats on the re-opening of the shop - the colors are so beautifully glowy.
