This was the chaos of my desk at the beginning of the week.

• wristwarmers for Audrey, waiting to be sewn up;
• journal articles to read for an essay that I struggled with, changed topic at the last minute and handed in a couple of days late;
• more pumpkins awaiting their tops.

I tried one on for size, warmth, etc. Pretty blue! (Bendigo Woollen Mills 8 ply Colonial in colourway 'Regal').

Finally everything was finished. The essay, the cup of tea, the second pair of wristwarmers.

These ones are in Bendigo Woollen Mills 8 ply alpaca, colourway ‘Havana’ and are so warm and soft to wear that I think I’ll have to make a pair for myself. (Pattern here.)
I do hope you like these Audrey.
Oh yes, and another one of these featured in the wee small hours when the essay stalled.

I reckon I’ll have a whole punnet

glad you got your essay completed.
i've said it before and i'll say it again - you have such pretty hands.
I'm envious of all those beautiful knitteds...and the skill to make them.
The strawberries are so cute and I love the pumpkins - what a clever idea.
Thanks so much for a pointer to the wristwarmer pattern. I just promised my son I would make him some for next winter and didn't even know what to look for. I searched on fingerless gloves... which wasn't quite what I wanted!
Yay for the finished essay, it looked like an interesting one despite the porcrastination going on. I agree with Babelbabe about your hands.
Love those wristwarmers. Glad you pointed us towards the pattern. Beautiful blue and grey yarns....

The Genering of Authority in the Public Speeches of Elizabeth 1?
How wonderful.
Got here through a link via Ashleigh from Stitched in Holland...and am really thinking about starting to knit again (Knitting? what am I thinking... stopped doing that in elementary school.. but I like the strawberries so much, and the pumpkins!)
Thanks for the link in your last comments to the strawberry pattern :-)
And I have failed miserably on Flickr - trying to search for your shed in the background of your clothesline picture. I tried entering "beautiful clotheslines" in the search box but I couldn't see yours there. I've not used Flickr at all so I could (and probably am) doing it all wrong. If I just looked through all the photos listed under suse3 would I find it there?
I love the strawberries!
I will say it again;
Your hands are beautiful. Pamper them!
Your knitting is wonderful!
Those strawberries are magic, as are your pumpkins!
Congrats on the finished essay.
I just love your blog. You are an amazing knitter! Good luck with the essay...you'll do great. Thank you for sharing bits and pieces of your life with us.
Those cables on the wrist warmers are bee-yoo-ti-ful. Have I already mentioned how jealous I am of your mad knitting skills?
Goodness me, you look like the Palmolive girl! What a beautiful manicure - those nails are the picture of perfection. Am now a wee bit jealous, after only just recovering from a 4-month regrowth following a very short lived foray into the world of acrylic nails.
Oh, and I do love that rose toile teacup. (The knitteds are a wonder as well.)
Such creativity!
beautiful pattern; and you're a wonderful hand model. What was your paper on?
Good ol' learning -- it never ends. I do love JSTOR though. It's so much better than digging through all the journals and then wasting so much time at the copy machine. Although it was kind of nice to see what else was going on in scholarship...
Love the mitts! I've been looking for a fairly quick knit for a gift, and I think I'm going to copy you on this one.
Mmm, I keep meaning to try that Irish Hiking Scarf -- I like the wristwarmers modification, too. Yours are beautiful.
Love the paper's title. What is yours called?
The strawberries are gorgeous, good enough to eat. I'm glad you patronise Bendigo woollen mill, I'm ordering some of the alpaca ( I think) today for the dreaded man's jumper I feel I have to make though it will probably take me two years to finish it.
Those strawberries are startling - just beautiful.
Thank you for the lovely comments.
The paper was for a class called The History of Sexualities. The question I chose for the essy was about representations of sexuality, and I chose Elizabeth I as a case study.
Oh! They're beautiful! The blue came out really well hey?
Thanks so much Suse - you are my favourite craftslady xoxo
